V. Other Activities

·       Translation into English of the Libyan National Report on Education. First report submitted to the International Conference on Education, organized by UNESCO in September 1992, Geneva, Switzerland

·       Translation of the Second report submitted to the same conference in Geneva in October 1994.

·       Supervision of several MA and PhD theses presented to the Arabic Department in the Faculties of Education and Languages, El Fateh University, Tripoli, and at the University of Malta.

·       Participation in seminars and conferences abroad (University of Malta, University of Frederick the Second, Naples, Italy, University of Leeds, England)

·       Membership of several committees commissioned by the Libyan Secretariat for Education to review curricula in pre-university education levels.

·       Participation with a UNESCO team of experts in the evaluation of the Libyan Educational System (May, 1994). I was responsible for the preparation of a comprehensive report on the Teaching of English in Libyan Pre-University Schools.

·       Extensive translation into English for the “Oil Sector” (Technical and legal material)

·       Supplying the Arab daily newspaper published in London “Al-Arab” with articles on literary and linguistic topics.

·       Supplying the prestigious Maltese weekly “The Sunday Times” with articles in English on language, literature, and culture

·       Excellent good interpretation experience (Arabic/English/Arabic) – United Nations Standards

·       Extensive experience in translation of highly complex economic and financial texts for the Central Bank of Libya, especially IMF and World Bank Material

·       Participation in a number of cultural activities held at the University of Malta and the Libyan Center in Malta which played a pivotal role in cementing Libyan Maltese Relations
