Beth Keener Lamont
is a Humanist and social justice advocate. She was married to the late Corliss
Lamont (author, educator, Humanist, civil liberties champion, and poet) and is
dedicated to promoting the Humanist philosophy in her husband's honor.
An NGO Representative at the United Nations for the AHA. Ms. Lamont
serves on the NGOs' Value Caucus, formed in 1994 to raise awareness of
the need to examine the values guiding human behavior at all levels.
President of the Half-Moon
Foundation, a non-profit created to promote educational and
informational activities consistent with the vision of founder Corliss
Lamont.
Writes articles for The Humanist on subjects such as Establishing
an International Criminal Court and A New Mandate for UN Peacekeeping.
Signed the Not in Our
Name Statement of Conscience, which calls on the people of the U.S.
to resist the policies and overall political direction that have emerged
since 9/11/01, and which pose grave dangers to the people of the world.
