PAPER BALLOT... MAKE SURE THEY
COUNT IT!
The Freedom Fast
My name is John B. Kenney and I have been on a
hunger strike since September 7th to protect our Constitution’s guaranteed
right to vote. I pledge to continue fasting until our vote is ensured.
Until our elected representatives or computer
companies, such as Diebold, Sequoia and ES&S return our Paper Ballots and
make them the primary vote, I will remain on hunger strike.
These devious computer companies, using “proprietary
software”, literally “OWN” our vote!! They refuse to retrofit their
electronic devices with printers. They must restore our inalienable right
to vote.
In the words of one of our founding fathers, Thomas
Paine, “The Right to Vote is the Primary Right… All other Rights are
secured from it. Without this Right, we are reduced to slavery.”
In the words of ALL of our founding fathers and all
true Patriots, “Give me Liberty, or give me Death.”
I love my life. I love my country. But I’ll live a
free man, or perish in an attempt to reclaim our Liberty.
I am taking this drastic action because the
exclusive use of electronic devices in our voting process puts the very
foundation of our democracy at stake. This is a life or death or SLAVERY
issue. When they own your vote…they will own you.
Not only do computer voting machines malfunction and
break down, they are easy to tamper with in order to produce fraudulent
results.
Furthermore, 30% of the electronic voting machines
in this country have no paper ballots or receipts (over 50 MILLION
VOTES!!!) and no way to recount or audit the vote if there are questions
about the results. This is the perfect-storm recipe for voting fraud. The
greatest scam ever foisted on the unaware American Public.
Already there have been MANY irregularities. I’m
afraid that on November 3rd 2004, there will be many, MANY more. But more
importantly, in a Democracy founded on a system of checks and balances,
they have deliberately designed a process that has no safeguards, no
open-source code and no transparency. In short they have the perfect
process to manipulate or even steal our vote!!
More shocking these private companies through
“proprietary software” will soon OWN our electoral process. Not even
ELECTION OFFICIALS can see the software or verify the votes. This means
that your VOTE is in very GRAVE danger!!
Who am I and why am I doing this?
I am not a politician, not a professional activist,
and I have no partisan agenda. I am simply an American citizen who is
frightened and outraged by what is happening to our electoral process.
And I am not alone. Many
grassroots organizations devoted to protecting the sanctity and
integrity of our right to vote have sprung up around the country and are
working furiously to avert a national crisis.
The five basic
elements of voting security are:
- Poll Book (personal sign in)
- Paper ballot
- Ballot box (transparent and locked)
- Hand Count (of all paper ballots in the ballot box)
- Results Posted (prominently displayed at the polling place)
Many of these elements are missing in many of the
polling districts and sites across the United States. YOUR VOTE IS IN
GRAVE DANGER.
Many FOUGHT AND DIED for our right to vote.
Too many lives have been sacrificed to ensure our basic freedoms.
Don't GIVE that right away!
DON’T LET THEM TAKE IT AWAY!!
DEMAND YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE AND HAVE THAT VOTE COUNT!
HUNGER FOR DEMOCRACY!!

HISTORY OF HUNGER STRIKES FOR FREEDOM
Hunger
strikes have a long history in Western Civilization as a means of
non-violent protest, going back as far as the Biblical ages. They were
revisited by groups fighting for equality, in Modern era, such as the
Scottish women at the turn of the century looking for women's right to
vote.
Marion Wallace Dunlop of Scotland began a hunger
strike in 1909 when she was imprisoned for her role in the suffragette
movement. Later in America, from1915-1917 various members of the
woman's right to vote movement in the United States, employed hunger
strikes as a method to bring attention to their plight. The
authorities at the time often used draconian measures such as
force-feeding in order to break the will of the women. But ultimately
such cruel treatment backfired and women won the right to vote in the
United States in 1920 and in England in 1928. |
