More about: DAN LEVIN & JENNER FURST  & their film CAPTURED

Dan Levin was born and raised in Manhattan surrounded and inspired by the arts and streets of New York City.  He comes from a family tradition of filmmakers, he is a 3rd generation filmmaker on his father's side.

In 2001, while still in High School, along with two fellow classmates, Levin produced and directed his first film LA CIUDAD DEL HIP HOP.  The short documentary was shot entirely on location in Alamar and Havana, Cuba, and explores the lives of the communist nationís struggling and pioneering Hip Hop artists.

After graduating from Emerson college with a BA in film in 2005, BEN.vs.DAN Productions was formed with long time friend and collaborator Ben Solomon. The first project from the duo was BORN TO THE PURPLE about the Harlem rap group Purple City. The DVD was internationally distributed by Koch in 2006. At the same time production began on CAPTURED, a feature documentary about Lower East Side artist and Documentartian Clayton Patterson. CAPTURED  will be digitally released in the spring 2009.   In 2008 Dan shot and produced THIS IS JIM JONES a feature documentary about the rapper Jim Jones, the film will be released by Sony in 2009.

Son of the late avant-garde composer, music theorist and entrepreneur Jeffrey Furst, Jenner was raised a nomad and spent his early life submerged in a theater of the bizarre and esoteric. Inspired by a myriad of strange and colorful characters, he began making films in his early teens. In 2006 he graduated from Hampshire College with a BA in Film and Critical Theory.

Since 1979 Clayton Patterson has dedicated his life to documenting the

final era of raw creativity and lawlessness in New York City's Lower

East Side, a neighborhood famed for art, music and revolutionary

minds. Traversing the outside edge he's recorded a dark and colorful

society, from drag to hardcore, heroin, homelessness, political chaos

and ultimately gentrification. His odyssey from voyeur to provocateur

reveals that it can take losing everything you love to find your own
