At nine he started writing songs and formed the band T.D.C. They played block parties and schools. When he was 13 he was the lead singer on the band's first record, "Wildcat and What's your mammas's Name"(Saunder Records);that was in the early "70s. In 1972 Gene worked as a studio musician, having the opportunity to work with Gary Puckett the Union Gap and records"Woman Woman" and "This Girl's a Woman Now." With T.D.C. he played the night club circuit,starting at the Tear Drop Bonsoir and also had Madonna herself sing backup for him in several studio sessions. While recording "My Old Lady" with Polygram, he performed "I Want To Live, Which was recorded and shown on the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon. He has played rhythm guitar for the Belmonts,Regents, The Earls and Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge when needed. He recorded an album, with Mr. Ronald Moussa and Richie Havens, of all native American songs including "The Indian Prayer," in 1995. In 1999 he recorded with Tomahawk Records, owned by Felipe Rose of the Village People, which gave Gene the opportunity to record "A Christmas Song" with the Village People. In 2000 Gene continued to perform on the night club circuit. He recently completed recording his latest singles--"It's Saturday Morning Once Again", "Sweet Lover", "Far From Distance" and "Girl Here's The Pain" ---which was produced by Gene Roberts & Keith Kemper. In 2001-2003 Gene Roberts is ready to bring his sexy voice to his rich experience, as a musician into the new Millennium. He will amaze people with being a sex symbol of the future.
